Labs in Advanced Manufacturing and Production Systems (AMPS)

The group has access to a number of Laboratory facilities both within the ANU and externally.

Advanced Systems Laboratory

This laboratory was established in 2003 with funding from the ARC LIEF scheme and the ANU MEC scheme. It contains the following:

  • 30 tonne hydraulic press with computer data logging and control and heated dies

The group has access to the extensive facilities available at the Victorian Centre for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing in Geelong. These facilities include:

  • Quickstep composite curing system
  • Ericson form test machine
  • MTS fatigue testing machine

Ford Stamping Plant

 

The group has access to stamping presses, assembly facilities, materials and testing equipment at Ford Geelong stamping plant. Many projects undertake plant based experimentation using this equipment which includes:

  • 400 tonne mechanical press lines
