Dr Jonghyuk (Jon) Kim is currently a Lecturer in Department of Engnineering within College of Engineering and Computer Science, Australian National University. His research focuses are on autonomous navigation in GPS-denied challenging environments such as forest, underwater, urban canyon or even Marsian terrains. In particular, they are:

Dr. Kim is the recipient of the prestigious Charles Sharpe Beecher Prize and Award for the contributions to aerospace research. He is currently the General Co-Chair for ACRA (Australasian Conf for Robotics and Automation) which will be held in Canberra, 3-5 December 2008.

What's new?

  • Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD Scholarship, $26,140 p.a. (tax exempt), for a project
    • Simultaneous Localisaton and Image Fusion (SLIF) for robotic exploration
    • Application deadline: 31st January 2009. The position is to commence in March 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.
    • Applicants should have at least upper second class honours from a recognised university.
    • To submit an application, please include a curriculum vitae, an academic transcript and two referees. A statement of the broad area of your research interest should also be included.
